Recent History PhD Chosen for Tenure-Track Position

Rwany Sibaja recieved his PhD from GMU in 2013. An historian of Latin America, he worked with Mathew Karush on his particular interest, sport in Latin America. His dissertation  "¡Animales! Civility, Modernity, and Construction of Identity in Argentine Soccer, 1955-70," is under revision for publication. Professor Sibaja also worked at GMU's Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media. His website, with descriptions of his work, can be found at http://rwany.sibaja.net/.

 

 

Sibaja has been appointed to the tenure-track position of Director of Social Studies Education and Assistant Professor of History at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. He will be starting there in the Fall of 2015. Congratulations to Professor Sibaja for this outstanding accomplishment!
