This course will introduce students to the history and appreciation of architecture through lectures, readings, and field trips. The course is organized historically, emphasizing basic structural systems, with examples taken from around the world. Supplementary readings will address issues of aesthetics, structure, design, use, and the architect’s practice. Fulfills the University General Education Arts requirement.
