Section Information for Spring 2015
This introductory course explores major works from the history of art in Western Europe and the Americas, from the fourteenth century to the present. Special attention will be paid to iconography, technique, patronage, art theory and criticism, with an emphasis on social and historical context. Visits to museums in the Washington, D.C., area will be an integral part of the course. Fulfills the Mason Core Arts requirement.
