Section Information for Fall 2021
This research seminar focuses on the period between roughly 1760 and 1820, which was an age of revolutions both in Europe and the Americas. Each student will produce an essay based on research in primary sources on a topic pertaining to one of the era's revolutionary movements, which occurred in British North America (i.e., the future United States), France, Haiti, Latin America, and elsewhere. Students are encouraged to contact the instructor prior to the first class meeting to discuss possible research subjects. Please note that, though war was a part of most of these revolutionary stories, this seminar is not a course in military history.
HIST 797 DL1 is a distance education section that meets synchronously. Students should expect to be online at the day and time scheduled.
