Cynthia A. Kierner

Cynthia A. Kierner is professor of early American and women's history. She is author of Scandal at Bizarre: Rumor and Reputation in Jefferson’s America (2004) and Beyond the Household: Women's Place in the Early South, 1700-1835 (1998). Past president of Southern Association for Women Historians, she is currently writing a biography of Martha Jefferson Randolph and coauthoring a volume on Virginia women’s history.
