Zachary Schrag

Assistant Professor

Zachary Schrag received his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2002. He is the author of The Great Society Subway: A History of the Washington Metro (Johns Hopkins, 2006) and is now working on a history of riot control since the 1870s. Schrag taught full-time at Baruch College and Columbia University before coming to George Mason in 2004.

Research Interests

Post-1945 U.S. history; history of technology; landscape history; urban history, especially that of Washington, D.C.; The Washington Metro; riot control
