Registration in history of decorative arts courses is restricted to students admitted to the MA in the history of decorative arts. A limited number of places in these courses is available to other admitted graduate students at Mason.
George Mason University graduate students who are interested in taking a history of decorative arts course should contact the director of the MA in art history.
For fall semesters, current Mason degree-seeking students should express their interest by May 1. New degree-seeking students and non-degree students should apply by August 1.
For spring semester, all students should apply by December 1.
Students may take up to two courses in the history of decorative arts.
Prospective students not yet admitted to Mason must first apply and be admitted to Mason as non-degree students. For more information see the link to non-degree admission to the right.
Students should note that admission to non-degree status and permission to register for a course in the History of Decorative Arts Program does not imply admission to the degree program. Students who want to pursue the degree will have to apply to the degree program. See the link to Prospective Students on the program website.
All students are encouraged to contact the director of the History of Decorative Arts Program to discuss their interests and learn about course availability before applying.
