This course provides a view on the rise of the United States as a world superpower from the mid nineteenth century to the present day.  Students will work with primary and secondary sources and will learn critical analysis and writing skills. In a time when most of us carry an device capable of accessing all of human knowledge in our pockets, critical analysis of what we find is vitally important. Students will learn how to assess sources for credibility and reliability. The assignments are all available digitally, including the textbooks. Students will also complete a digital research project that uses digital sources and is at least designed to be available online.
