Section Information for Fall 2020
We live in a world in which everyone’s fate is interconnected. People, products, and viruses flow across national borders and affect our prosperity and well-being, for good and for ill. Not everyone is happy about this fact, but it is a fact nonetheless. How did we get to this point? How long have we been interconnected in this way? How did global systems of trade, information, and migration take shape, and whose interests have they served? Who has been excluded from the benefits of those systems? In this class we will attempt to answer these questions, using primary sources to think critically about the key events and processes in world history, covering the period from around 1200 to the present.
HIST 125 DL6 is a distance education section that meets synchronously. Students should expect to be online on the days and times scheduled.
