This course will explore a period in history when the spiritual traditions of Christianity and Islam converge and clash; the peoples of West and Central Asia emerge in the Mediterranean world as forces to be reckoned with; and fierce competition among dynasties far and wide converge on the great city of Constantinople, queen of cities, capitol of the Eastern Roman Empire, from the seventh through the fifteenth centuries.

HIST 388 DL2 is a distance education section that meets synchronously. Students should expect to meet on the days and time scheduled.
