In this course, students will survey the history of the U.S. Navy, with a focus on the nineteenth century. We will be investigating all aspects of naval life, from tactics to training to exploration and science, and surveying wars such as the First Barbary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and the World Wars. As part of this project, we will be collaboratively creating a digital project, which may take the form of a podcast, a text adventure game, or some other digital project as determined by the class.
