Section Information for Spring 2022
This course surveys the cultural history of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, when Americans grappled with many off the same problems or issues that we face today—rapid and radical technological change; large scale immigration; evolving notions of racial justice and changing notions of gender and sex. The course will mix “classics” in the filed with more recent interpretive work.

Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy, Graduate, Junior Plus, Non-Degree or Senior Plus.
Enrollment is limited to Graduate, Non-Degree or Undergraduate level students.
Students in a Non-Degree Undergraduate degree may not enroll.
