Nathan Michalewicz is a graduate research assistant for the Journal of Social History and a Ph.D. student in the department of history. He studies early modern Europe, Christian-Muslim relations, and diplomacy. His research focuses on the place of the Ottoman Empire in the French diplomatic imagination during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Before attending George Mason University, he received his B.A. and M.A. in history at the University of West Georgia.
