Alison Landsberg’s scholarship will be focus of special session at Memory Studies Association conference in Madrid

Alison Landsberg’s landmark book, Prosthetic Memory: The Transformation of American Remembrance in the Age of Mass Culture (Columbia University Press, 2004), has been a seminal work in the growing interdisciplinary field of memory studies.  At the annual meeting of the Memory Studies Association, a global scholarly organization devoted to the field, a panel of leading scholars from multiple academic fields (Communications, Sociology, and Literature) will discuss the significance of Landsberg’s book.  The panel will be held at Complutence University Madrid, June 26-28.
