Accelerated Master's Programs Overview

Accelerated master’s degree programs are designed for Mason’s highly qualified and highly motivated undergraduates.

  • They provide a streamlined application process with no application fee.
  • They allow students to apply 12 graduate credits to their undergraduate degrees.
  • Students have the opportunity to take an additional 6 graduate credits to be held for reserve graduate credit (apply only to the graduate degree).
  • They can start their graduate degrees with up to 18 credits earned while undergraduates.

Students admitted to an accelerated master’s degree program have the opportunity to complete both degrees in a reduced amount of time, and at a reduced cost.

Interested in applying to the accelerated master's program in History?

Please consult with the Undergraduate History Director, Dr. Jane Hooper,  in order to schedule an initial advising meeting and to declare your intent to apply for the accelerated master's program in history. The UG History director is the BAM Coordinator and the first point of contact for the BAM (Bachelors Accelerated Masters) History program. 

The Masters program in History director, Dr. Stephen Robertson,  will serve as the Graduate advisor for all BAM History students. 

 

All applicants to the Accelerated Master's program in History must adhere to the admissions application instructions and eligibility requirements located in the "Applying" tab, linked at the top of this webpage. Please read the "Applying" link information carefully in order to facilitate a seamless transition from bachelors to the accelerated master's program.
