History M.A. alum publishes book on the abolition movement in America

 Paul J. Polgar, who received his M.A. in History from Mason in 2007, has just published his book, STANDARD-BEARERS OF EQUALITY: AMERICA'S FIRST ABOLITION MOVEMENT.  Based on his doctoral dissertation completed at the City University of New York, the book has been published by the University of North Carolina Press and the Omohundro Institute for Early American History and Culture. Polgar held the Institute's post-doctoral fellowship from 2014-2016, and is currently a professor in the Department of History at the University of Mississippi.
