Professor Angela Ho participated in the Georgetown Summer Teacher Institute in summer 2020, where she gave a zoom lecture on the theme of “Connected Histories of the Renaissance.” In April 2021, she presented a paper at the online Renaissance Society of America conference. The paper was titled “Ferdinand Verbiest’s World Map for Emperor Kangxi: Reconsidering the Politics of Hybridity.” Travel restrictions and library closures limited archival research opportunities, but Dr. Ho continues to work on her current book project, provisionally titled Commercial Exchanges and Artistic Innovations: The Dutch East India Company’s Encounters with China, 1602-1740
