PhD alum Jacqueline Beatty publishes book on women in revolutionary America

Jacqueline Beatty, GMU History PHD 2017, has just published her first book with New York University Press. In Dependence: Women and the Patriarchal State in Revolutionary America is a revised version of Beatty's doctoral dissertation, done at Mason under the supervision of Prof. Rosemarie Zagarri (Chair), Prof. Jane Censer (committee member), and Prof. Cynthia Kierner (committee member). Beatty is an Assistant Professor of History and Political Science at York College in Pennsylvania.
