Christopher Gregg gives invited lecture on Roman Gaul for the Smithsonian Associates program

Professor Christopher Gregg will deliver an online lecture for the Smithsonian Resident Associates program on December 2. The talk, titled "Roman Gaul," will survey major archaeological monuments and works of art from Roman provincial sites in southern France. Highlights will include the sculpted arches at Glanum and Orange, the theater at Orange, the temple known as the Maison Carree in Nimes, as well as a wonderfully preserved cargo boat retrieved from the bottom of the Rhone River and now in the archaeological museum at Arles.
