For three weeks in June, 12 undergraduate and graduate students shared immersive learning experiences at the 60th Venice Biennale, which featured 330 international modern and contemporary artists. Organized and led by Dr. Heather
McGuire and Jeffrey Kenney, Mason Exhibitions Associate Curator, this 6-credit program included guided tours of four Venetian Museums, the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation, the Pinault Collection, the Accademia, a Murano glassblowing
studio, and a day trip outside Venice. Students thrived together and engaged deeply with art and curatorial practice by discovering artists, proposing capsule exhibitions, assessing curatorial decisions, collaborating on group projects, and developing their own research topics.
