History PhD Alum Richard Hardesty gives lecture on the history of baseball for the Green Machine Historical Ensembles’ “19th-Century Baseball Experience” event

On March 29th GMU’s Green Machine Historical Ensembles hosted a public event, “19th-Century Base Ball Experience.”  The event opened with a lecture by Dr. Richard Hardesty, an alum of the History PhD program and baseball historian.  Visitors also had the opportunity to play an exhibition game using 1864 rules and equipment. This event coincided with MLB’s Opening Weekend.
