Benedict Carton, Associate Professor of History, and his co-author, Robert Vinson, an Associate Professor of History and Black Studies at William & Mary, have been awarded a Virginia Foundation for the Humanities (VFH) Fellowship. This grant supports one semester of writing in residence at VFH in Charlottesville, VA. Their forthcoming book is titled Shaka's Progeny: Zulu Cultures and the Making of a Modern Atlantic World.
