Professors Hamner and Lair Launch New Master's Degree in War and the Military in Society

Starting in Fall 2012, a new Master's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies concentration in War and the Military in Society will be available to students in the Washington, DC, area. The concentration brings together thirty Mason faculty from a dozen different disciplines to teach the curriculum and advise final projects.

Students interested in the intellectual consideration of the military, war, and society may take courses in Anthropology, History, Women's Studies, and Religious Studies, among others. Students interested in practical applications for their studies may take courses in biodefense, geography, government, and conflict resolution.

The concentration capitalizes on Mason's incredible strength in these areas as it provides students with an innovative approach to some of contemporary society's most pressing concerns. For more information, visit http://wams.gmu.edu/ or email wams@gmu.edu.
