Doctoral candidate Sheri Huerta has been awarded an Andrew W. Mellon research fellowship to conduct research at the Virginia Historical Society in Richmond.
Huerta's dissertation, which she is writing under the supervision of Professor Jane Censer, will focus on the social and economic causes for and results of the destabilization of slavery in northern Virginia.
