Alumnus Tim Grove (M.A.) Publishes Book on American History

Tim Grove, who received a Masters degree in History at Mason, has published A Grizzly in the Mail and Other Adventures in American History.

According to his publisher, the University of Nebraska Press, Grove "translates [his public history] experience into an insider’s tour of some of the most interesting moments in American history."  The book's stories, the press continues, "are populated with well-known historical figures such as John Brown, Charles Lindbergh, Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and Sacagawea—as well as the not-so-famous" and "Grove takes readers to historic sites such as Harpers Ferry, Fort McHenry, [and] the Ulm Pishkun buffalo jump."

Tim Grove is chief of museum learning at the National Air and Space Museum. He is the coauthor of The Museum Educator's Manual and received the 2008 Smithsonian Individual Achievement in Education Award.
