COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will introduce students to the history and appreciation of architecture through lectures, readings, films, team projects and practice in introductory architectural drawing. The course is organized historically, emphasizing basic structural systems and styles, with examples taken from around the world. Supplementary readings will address issues of aesthetics, structure, design, use, and the architect’s practice. Fulfills the University General Education Arts requirement.
