Dr. Rosie Zagarri wrote the narrative for Martha Washington: A Life, an on-line exhibit created jointly between the Center for History and New Media and Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens. This exhibit provides a detailed look into both Martha Washington’s life and the lives of women during the 18th Century. It also features teaching modules and materials suitable for middle and high school students, and an archive of artifacts, images, and primary documents offering further information on Washington’s life as well as lives of 18th Century planters in Virginia.
