This course is a survey of Western Civilization from ancient Mesopotamia through post-Cold War Europe, emphasizing the distinctive features of Western populations, cultures, philosophies, economies, wars and the people and events that shaped them; we will also explore our perceptions and interpretations of history in the modern age.
