The Camera and the Cold War is both a history (of the Cold War) course, and a course that critically studies the presentation of history through documentary films. It is organized around films on selected cold war topics such as Hiroshima, anti-communism, and the Vietnam War. In addition to the usual history reading and writing assignments every student will create a short script for an original documentary film on a Cold War topic.
