The minor in art history covers a broad spectrum of periods, cultures, and themes, with an emphasis on historical context.

Degree Requirements (Catalog Year 2013-2014)

In addition to meeting the following requirements, students must meet the university  requirements for all minors.

Students pursuing this minor must complete 18 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.00.

ARTH 394 is not required for the minor but is strongly encouraged.

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in a study abroad program.  A maximum of 6 credits of ARTH 398 - Study Abroad in the History of Art may be applied to the minor with permission of department.

One to two courses (3 to 6 credits) in 100- or 200-level art history courses

Four to five courses (12 to 15 credits) in 300- or 400-level art history courses

Total: 18 credits
