Requirements

The minor in art history covers a broad spectrum of periods, cultures, and themes, with an emphasis on historical context.

Minor Requirements (Catalog Year 2014-2015)

In addition to meeting the following requirements, students must meet the university  requirements for all minors.

Students pursuing this minor must complete 18 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.00. Eight credits of course work must be unique to the minor.

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in a study abroad program.  A maximum of 6 credits of ARTH 398 - Study Abroad in the History of Art may be applied to the minor with permission of department. ARTH 394 is not required for the minor but is strongly encouraged.

Students complete the following:

One to two 100- or 200-level courses in art history (3 to 6 credits)

Four to five 300- or 400-level courses in art history (12 to 15 credits)

Total: 18 credits
