U.S. History: My interests include memory, technology (especially the built environment), and local history.

I’m a historian, writer, and editor based in Central Virginia. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in the history program at George Mason University. In my time at Mason, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for HIST 100 and HIST 125, and as a Graduate Research Assistant with the Center for Mason Legacies (CML), an initiative of the University Libraries Digital Scholarship Center under the direction of Dr. George Oberle. Duties at CML included creating metadata for historical documents and editing biographical data related to the Mason Family Manuscript Account Book.

I completed my BA in English and history at the College of William & Mary and my MA at Virginia Tech. Much of my background lies in public history; I worked at Historic Jamestowne, Jamestown Settlement, the American Civil War Museum, and Hanover Tavern Foundation before coming back to finish my training as a professional academic historian.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, I am serving as a co-president of the GMU History Graduate Student Organization.
