Jordan D. G. Mitchell is an assistant professor of Classical Studies and History. He received his Ph.D in Ancient History from the University of North Texas in 2024 with his dissertation "Artifex Patriae: The Specter of Augustus in Petronius' Satyrica" which he is currently editing into his first monograph ("Augustus and Roman Imperial Critiques in Petronius' Satyrica"). He also published a chapter ("Toxic Masculinity in Petronius' Satyrica") in the first-of-its-kind edited volume Toxic Masculinity in the Ancient World published in 2023 by Edinburgh University Press.
