Kurt Andrew Dodd Endowed Scholarship in History History and Art History

Rachel Bayler is pursuing a master’s degree in history, specializing in U.S. history with a concentration in applied history. She is originally from Indianapolis, IN. Rachel is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in history and folklore/ethnomusicology. Her research interests center around the social and cultural history of the nineteenth century United States, with special focus on gender, race, and religion. After completing her master’s degree, Rachel plans to pursue a career in state or local public history, focusing on collections management, curation, and historical archaeology.
