Presented to the undergraduate student whose written projects throughout his or her undergraduate career in Art History have consistently shown high achievement in original research and writing.

Gabrielle Walker

Gabrielle Walker

Gabrielle Walker is a rising senior, art history major and Spanish minor from Richmond, VA. She is currently studying abroad in Granada, Spain. Gabrielle is passionate about curation, community outreach, and representation in the arts and museum settings. While attending George Mason University, she has interned at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, The Lucy Burns Museum, and most recently, The Phillips Collection. While on campus, Gabrielle has served as a student senator for SGA and currently serves as the education chair of the NAACP chapter on campus. Earlier this month, she presented her research paper Memory and Momentum on Monument Avenue at the 2022 SUNY New Paltz Art History Symposium. This fall, she will be applying to graduate programs in hopes of pursuing her PhD in art history. She is honored to receive this scholarship and would like to thank the art history department for their continued support, advice, and letters of recommendation. She is also excited to be a student representative for the art history department this upcoming year.
