BA History

Sinead Monaghan is a junior studying history with a concentration in public history. She is from Rhode Island, and loves museums and learning about a wide range of historical topics. When she’s not learning about history, she loves teaching herself about flags and geography. She is happiest when she is learning, and believes that possessing a basic historic understanding is necessary to function in this world, which is why she loves public history so much. When she is not studying, she serves as the head of the graphic design committee for GMU YDSA and the fundraising coordinator for GMU’s UNICEF chapter. She is honored to have received both the Donald R. Barr Memorial Endowed Scholarship and the Outstanding Public and Digital History Project Award, and hopes that her hard work can continue to be recognized as she pursues history as a career and enters the museum field after graduating.
