Awarded for "'Army of Vigilantes': Civilian Public Service and the Patriotic Conscientious Objectors Who Refused to Kill During World War II," written under the supervision of Professor Lair. 

 

Matthew recently completed studies at George Mason, earning his master’s degree in European history in December 2022. He previously completed undergraduate studies in sociology at James Madison University. He hopes to spend the rest of his career contributing to the field of history in some capacity. His research interests lie in modern history, particularly twentieth century European history.
