Georgia Ferrell

Georgia Ferrell is an alumna of Mason's Master of Arts in History program and is a current PhD student.  Her research interests include late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century U.S. history, Indigenous histories, gender and, memory studies.  Her future goal is to teach at the collegiate level.

Professor Genetin-Pilawa writes that she “demonstrates an incredible drive to discover and create historical arguments, an innate curiosity, and a constant effort to improve her abilities. She invests the time and energy necessary to become and outstanding young scholar." Professor Zagarri agrees, noting how Georgia “demonstrated how the recent studies of the Early Republic, especially works on gender, race, and trans-nationalism, have challenged a romanticized notion of the American past. It was a brilliant essay--one of the best I have received in all my years of teaching the course.
