Donald R. Barr Memorial Endowed Scholarship History and Art History
The Donald R. Barr Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in 1985 in memory of Donald R. Barr, ’78, MA ’86 (posthumous), to assist students in history. Mr. Barr was an alumnus of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The endowment was funded by multiple donors including his mother, Anita G. Barr, who was an employee of the university. To provide scholarships for history majors.

Alexa Koeckritz
Alexa Koeckritz is a junior pursuing a bachelor of arts in history with a concentration in digital history and a minor in museum studies. Alexa is particularly interested in United States political history and women’s history. She plans to work in the public history field and is a strong proponent of using digital tools to make historical knowledge more accessible. Alexa comes from a military family and has lived in six locations across the U.S. and Germany before coming to George Mason University. She has applied to the BAM program and plans to pursue a master's degree in applied history. After graduation, Alexa hopes to work for the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum.
