Robert K. Hedrick Jr. and Walter F. Huxley Endowed Scholarship History and Art History

The Robert K. Hedrick, Jr. Endowed Scholarship was established in 1999 by Robert Kenny Hedrick, Jr., BA ’71, with special acknowledgement of Dr. Josephine F. Pacheco, who was a faculty member in the Department of History and Art History. The fund supports scholarships for full-time undergraduates earning a degree in History or Art History.

Hunter Shenk is from Fauquier county here in Virginia, where he attended Fauquier High School before applying to George Mason University. He is currently a third-year student at Mason with plans to graduate next spring. He is studying for a bachelor of arts in history with a concentration in global history and a regional focus on East Asia. After he graduates in the spring, he is planning to remain at Mason to obtain a master's degree in education. He aspires to one day work teaching history either on the university level as a professor or the K12 level as a teacher.
