Aleksandra Chernyak was born in Russia and immigrated to the US with her family at nine years old. She grew up in Maine and received her BA in liberal studies from Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. After taking an indirect road to graduate school, Aleksandra entered George Mason University to pursue her MA in history to become a history professor. She has a passion for Jewish history and took her love of comic books to an expert level, by becoming a comic book historian. In her spare time, she loves speaking about comics and pop culture history at comic book conventions and prefers to dress in historically inspired clothing.
