Presented for the best paper from all sections of the capstone course, History 499: Senior Seminar during the previous calendar year.
Skyler David Hodell is an alumnus of George Mason University (BA, history), "half-hailing" from Fairfax. His areas of research include early modern "Black Atlantic" history, as well as transnational exchange within the wider Global South. A published writer, he looks forward to further exploring the possibilities of interdisciplinarity—namely the notion of film as a social and historical institution, as well as the intersection of historical practice with music and ethnography.
